Photo Drawing privacy policy
Published by Jordy de Koning. This policy describes Photo Drawing for iOS and Android, and explains how optional sharing, support email and visits to this website differ from drawing in the app.
Drawing on your device
Photo Drawing turns a selected photo into outlines that you can color. Camera capture, photo conversion, editing and project storage happen on-device. Core drawing works offline. There are no accounts, no ads and no analytics in the app, and it has no developer backend for uploading photos, drawings or usage events.
Photos and permissions
The app asks for camera access when you choose to take a still photo. It does not request microphone access. You can instead choose a photo through the system picker or use the bundled sample. You decide which photo to provide; the app does not scan or upload your photo library.
Your original photo is not edited or deleted by Photo Drawing. During conversion, the selected image is oriented correctly and downsampled to a working page with a longest edge of at most 1600 pixels. Saved projects include a normalized source preview, outline, editable paint, thumbnail and editor settings. The normalized source is re-encoded with original EXIF metadata, including embedded location tags, removed. Content visible in the photo itself remains visible.
Still-camera files and exported share images may temporarily use app cache storage. Capture files are removed after reading; temporary files used by the operating system or sharing tools can remain until their cleanup. Choosing a photo stored in a cloud-backed photo library may involve your operating system or photo provider downloading it. That provider’s handling is separate from Photo Drawing’s local conversion.
Local projects, deletion and backups
Projects autosave in the app’s private local storage so you can reopen them from Your drawings. Photo Drawing does not provide an account or its own cloud sync. The developer cannot retrieve your local projects for you.
You can delete individual projects from the drawing library. Uninstalling the app normally removes its local app data. Your operating system may include app data in device or cloud backups, depending on your settings, and may restore it later. Manage or delete those backups through your device or backup provider. Deleting a project in the app does not remove copies from earlier backups or places where you already shared it.
Sharing a finished picture
Sharing only starts when you choose Share picture. The app creates a flattened PNG of the white page, colors and outlines without copying the source photo’s EXIF metadata, then hands that PNG to the operating system’s share sheet. The editable project and normalized source photo are not attached to this export.
You choose the sharing destination. Your chosen app, recipient, storage service or social platform may receive, store or upload the picture according to its own privacy policy and your settings. Canceling the share sheet does not upload anything to a Photo Drawing server; the app has no such upload service.
Support email
If you email hello@jordydekoning.com, your email provider and mine process your address, message and any attachments. I use the information you choose to send to answer your question or investigate a reported problem. Please send only what is needed, and avoid sensitive photos or personal information. You can contact me about a previous support message or a privacy concern.
This website and other services
Visiting jordydekoning.com is separate from using the offline app. This website uses counter.dev web analytics and loads web fonts from Google. The website host, analytics and font providers may process technical connection information such as your IP address, browser information and requested page. These website services are not analytics built into Photo Drawing and do not receive your local drawing projects from the app.
Other apps on this website may have different features and their own policies. Photo Drawing does not include advertising, sponsorship payments or a sponsor submission form. Your operating system, backup provider, photo provider, sharing destination and email provider handle their respective services independently.
Your choices and contact
You can use the sample instead of granting camera access, choose which photos to import, draw offline, delete local projects, manage device backups and decide whether or where to share an export.
For privacy questions, contact Jordy de Koning at hello@jordydekoning.com. Photo Drawing support also explains common camera, fill, saving and sharing questions. This page will be updated if the app’s data handling changes.
